Recess to me looks to be mainly pose to pose animation, due to the rigidity of movement from one to next. the animation uses very vibrant colours and very illustrative backgrounds/scenery. It takes concepts of different achetypes found in a school playground and exaggerates them in a way that whole narratives can revolve around a character that is not the main character there are also subtle adult hints in the animation for example there is a segment whereby gender is taken into account when, people join a club for people named ashley.
The character 'Gus' says the line 'hey its the nineties!' refering to the context of the time whereby the fight for gender equality is on going.
I have noticed that there is little shot variation in the animation- with lots of medium shots being used - this could be due to the dimensions being changed when being uploaded online.
